Ethiopia Bunna dominated possession and created numerous goal scoring chances but were shocked 2-1 by visitors Sidama Bunna in Addis Ababa. ArbaMinch Ketema and Dashen Bira ended their game in stalemate.
Sidama Bunna upset Ethiopia Bunna as they close gap on the leaders. Sidama took a slender lead before the interval with Addis Gidey’s fine strike in the 38th minute.
Ethiopia Bunna midfielder Amanuel Yohannis canceled out Addis’s goal shortly after the second half resumed as he sends a ball that go past Sidama custodian Lealem Birhanu after collecting a pass from William Yabeun.
Former Ethiopia Nigd Bank and Hawassa Ketema player Fitsum Teferi managed to restore the lead two minutes after the hour mark through a simple header. Ethiopia Bunna tried to get goals by piling up pressure on Sidama defense but it was futile.
Elsewhere in ArbaMinch, ArbaMinch Ketema and Dashen Bira settled for a barren draw. The game saw few attempts on goal. Dashen complained over an alleged penalty claim.
Sidama Bunna reclaimed fourth while Ethiopia Bunna sits 9th. Dashen and ArbaMinch are 10th and 11th respectively in the log table as they aim to avoid relegation this season.
